Soul Vomit is a new annual anthology published by Broken Publications. Started in late 2011, we are now accepting submissions for our 2012 anthology, themed Domestic Violence. You can submit written works or cover art ideas through our submission manager.

This anthology should help to shed light on this plight that so many suffer behind closed doors. We're looking for work that speaks emotionally and connects the helpless victim to their survivor counterpart.

Everyone has a survivor in them - sometimes, it's hard to see it at first, and often domestic violence victims have an extremely difficult time leaving their abusers. This is why they often need encouragement, support, and a way to gather up their strength to leave.

As a domestic violence survivor, it is a mission for me to get the message out there that the most charismatic and beautiful people can often be abusive, whether that abuse is emotional, mental, physical, or sexual. The abuse is real, no matter how stupid you feel you are or how wrong you're told you are on a daily basis.

Please note that the nature of this anthology is sensitive, and there will be graphic works in this book. I'm not here to sugarcoat the situation for anyone; abuse is scary, violent, and despicable.

Because this is an unfunded project, donations are accepted. Depending on the financial situation, I will try to send contributors' copies to each writer and artist who is accepted to be in the anthology once it's published in November/December of 2012.
