The option to remain anonymous is open. Please specify this in your cover letter. If it is not safe to send an email reply, please include one-time usage rights permission for your submission(s) by adding this text to the end of your cover letter:
I, (replace this with your full name), hereby give Broken Publications permission to print my submitted work(s) in the 2013 anthology, Soul Vomit: Domestic Violence Aftermath. These works are:

(List the titles of your submissions here, along with what type of submission, i.e. art, photography, poetry, prose, short story, or essay.)

I fully understand that this does not guarantee my work's acceptance into the anthology, but that these one-time usage rights are given in advance for the protection of the author.

(Full Name as Electronic Signature & Date)
If you wish not to remain anonymous, please send a short bio so we can credit you properly. We are no longer including author or artist photos within the book, but contributor information is listed in alphabetical order in the back of the book. If you do not wish to include a bio, do not send one.

What we're looking for:

Poetry, short stories, essays, and prose pieces about domestic violence, recovery, leaving, or witnessing. Please keep single submissions at 5,000 words or less. Essays should be no more than 3,000 words. Poetry and prose should be kept at four (4) pages or less.

The purpose in publishing this year's anthology is to raise awareness in the general population about the effects of domestic violence and abuse long after the actual abuse has stopped happening.

YOU RETAIN THE COPYRIGHT OF YOUR WORK. There is no contractual agreement for this project, though a one-time usage agreement giving us permission to print your work is required.

Submit up to five (5) short stories (5,000 words or less), poetry, or prose pieces about the topic of domestic violence, survival of, or PTSD after. Encouraging works are welcomed for survivors who have managed to conquer their fears and rebuild their lives.

If you'd like to submit artwork along the same lines, it must be at least 300dpi quality.

Cover art has not yet been chosen, so if you would like your work to be considered for the book cover, please submit it.

You can submit up to 5 files total of any of these types - you retain all copyrights of your work, but it will be included in a collective anthology and should be credited as such if published elsewhere in the future.

We look forward to reading your work!
